This apprenticeship standard is designed for individuals who wish to pursue a career in business administration. It covers a wide range of skills, including communication, IT, finance, and project management. This apprenticeship will provide you with the knowledge and skills to become a confident and efficient business administrator, capable of supporting the smooth running of an organisation.

APPRENTICESHIP STANDARD

What does it cover?

The apprenticeship covers a wide range of topics including:

  • Communication: Apprentices will learn how to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders. They will develop their written and verbal communication skills, and learn how to use different forms of communication to achieve specific goals.
  • IT: Apprentices will gain a good understanding of IT systems and software commonly used in business administration. They will learn how to use different software, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, to manage and analyze data.
  • Finance: Apprentices will learn how to manage financial information, including budgeting, invoicing, and bookkeeping. They will gain an understanding of financial systems and procedures and how to use them to support the financial health of an organization.
  • Project Management: Apprentices will learn how to plan, organize, and execute projects. They will gain an understanding of project management methodologies, and learn how to use project management tools to track progress and manage resources.

How does it work?

The Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training and in-person or online ‘off-the-job’ learning. The apprenticeship is designed to provide a structured training program that allows apprentices to gain the knowledge and skills needed to become a confident and efficient business administrator, while also working in a real-world setting.

On-the-job training: As an apprentice, you will be employed in a business administration role and will receive training and mentoring from experienced professionals. You will be working alongside experienced business administrators and will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you are learning in a real-world setting. Your employer will be responsible for providing you with the necessary training, guidance, and support to help you develop your skills and knowledge.

In-person and online learning: In addition to on-the-job training, apprentices will also attend in-person or virtual ‘off-the-job’ sessions to gain the theoretical knowledge and skills required for the role with your . The classroom-based learning will be delivered by experienced trainers and will cover a wide range of topics including communication, IT, finance, and project management.

The apprenticeship typically lasts for 12 to 18 months and is designed to be flexible and tailored to meet the specific needs of the apprentice and their employer.
